At Santa Rosa Day School, we believe that family involvement is the foundation of student success. By working together, families, educators, and community members create impactful learning experiences that support every student's growth and development.

The Importance of Family Involvement

Family engagement starts at home, where lifelong learning habits are first nurtured. When families actively participate in their student’s growth and development, they lay the foundation for academic success. As a child’s first, teachers, parents, and guardians continue to play a vital role even after classroom learning begins. Research consistently shows that students with involved families achieve higher academic performance and develop essential skills for lifelong success.

How Families Can Support Learning

Families can support their student’s education in various ways, such as:

  • Creating a literacy-rich home environment through household libraries or shared reading time.
  • Participating in book fairs or other reading initiatives to promote a love of learning.
  • Helping students develop strong study habits and stay involved in their progress.

Opportunities for Family Participation

Santa Rosa Day School encourages families to connect with teachers, staff and students through activities such as:

  • Parent nights and school board meetings
  • Math nights, science fairs, and other academic events
  • Athletic and cultural programs that highlight student achievements

We encourage families to attend these events and connect with teachers to support their student’s individual learning needs.

A Community Approach to Student Success

We believe students achieve their full potential when families, educators and community members work together. Active involvement in academic, athletic and cultural programs prepares students to become future leaders in our community.
